Nearly two decades ago, The Friends of Public Safety (now known as Tequesta Friends of Public Safety) was founded to build the 911 Monument on Village Green, to assist the members of Tequesta's Fire and Police Departments in times of need, and to procure safety equipment and training as approved by the chief of each department. Over the years we have helped public safety personnel purchase medical equipment that was not covered by health insurance. We have provided financial assistance to pay for medical insurance deductibles and travel costs. We have funded several awards banquets and fire and police sponsored community outreach events.
